Hidden Lane Tearoom, Unit 8, Argyle Court, 1103 Argyle Street, Glasgow – March 2012

Hidden away (hence the name) in a busy but not widely known lane on the Yorkhill end of Argyle Street.  We had booked an afternoon tea for tw0, we were hungry and looking forward to those cakes.  At £12 you get

The mini rolls filled with brie and apple hit the spot, chewy outside, bouncy inside with creamy brie and crisp apple.  The amount of cakes on the serving plate was astounding, if anything take a couple off and add another couple of sandwiches to lessen the sugar coma, however we headed  straight for that coma quite happily.

It’s pretty small inside, so booking is recommended.  It is also quite warm upstairs, so mind pull off that heavy coat.

Other dishes are also served

Quick service, excellent cakes only downside was could have done with another couple of sandwiches.
