Free Fish Cookery Class 2nd June, Glasgow

On the 2 June parents and children are invited to attend an informative day of cooking and eating fish with the help of Fish is the Dish and Glasgow Cookery School, which is based in the heart of the city centre. The event forms part of a nationwide campaign by Seafish, to get more parents cooking seafood for the family and is completely free to attendees.

Heather Middleton from Seafish said: “Despite people being aware of the health benefits of eating fish, there is still an underlying misconception that seafood is a tricky mealtime option. That’s one of the reasons Fish is the Dish was launched by Seafish – to help show families just how easy cooking with seafood can be and to encourage confidence preparing different types of fish at home.”

Jo Dunlop, one of the original founders of the campaign said: “Fish is the Dish is all about chatting to mums online and helping each other to create tasty, easy fish recipes at home. By attending these events we really help parents can take the fear out of cooking and see that cooking with seafood can be fun!”

Langside Cafe review and Locavore opens

Review of Langside Cafe, Glasgow.

Locovore on Skirving Street has now opened its doors.

Small but bursting with lots of enthusiasm as well as goods.  This is a community , non-profit organisation.  More information can be found

HERE.  We bought some spiced crabapples, looking forward to some of that later tonight.   Can’t wait to go back and buy some Anster cheese, saves me the drive up the coast.  Excellent wee den of deliciousness.
